When Gods Ready

The other day I saw a movie and in this movie the main character was just turning 16 and learning how to drive. He was always too scared to merge on the highway. Later on in the movie, him and his older brother were being chased on the highway and the younger brother had to drive. The older brother was yelling at the younger brother to merge or else they might die. The younger brother yelled, “i’m not ready!” and his older brother said “you never will be!” and in a split second the younger brother merged without even thinking. God convicted me in that moment. I know I always have the excuse of “i’m not ready”. I’ve wasted so many opportunities and experiences because i wasn’t ready. God said to me in that moment,”You’ll never be ready. You’ll never want to do what i’ve planned but you’ll have to. I’ve been asking the same things of you for years and i’ve gotten the same excuse for years. ‘i’m not ready.’ You never will be. This life isn’t about you. I didn’t create you to do what you want to do, I created you to do what I called you to do. You’ve followed your plan before and you remember where that got you? Live by faith and not by sight. You’re not ready because you’re living by sight but trust in me and live by faith. You will never be fully ready, not now, not tomorrow, not ever. I know you, I know you better then anyone else and I know you think you’re not ready. But child, put your faith in me. For you cannot see what I have planned but you need to have faith. Believe me, all I do is for good. I will never put you through something that I know you can’t handle. You can do all things for I give you strength. Even when your faith was small, I still had a plan. Even when you followed your own plan, I still had a plan for you. On your own timing, you will never be ready, but my timing is always perfect.”
