Strength Is Found

Have you been feeling stressed out? Utterly exhausted? Burnt out to the point you have zero motivation to do anything at all? This has been the case for me the past two weeks. I have had a large project after a big test after a very long essay the past two weeks and I am tired. TIRED!

When we are tired, not just physically, but mentally and spiritually drained it comes out in the way we treat people. I had a short fuse with people I am very close to and it took one of them to point me in the right direction.

I was having a rough day and overthinking a lot of things as well as thinking about all of the assignments my to-do list consisted of. A friend of mine that is not a Christian said,”Sydney, it seems like you are really struggling and I know reading your Bible makes you feel better so maybe you should try that.” The truth is, I hadn’t read my Bible for at least two weeks or been to my Bible study in the same amount of time. My spirit was starving.

How many times do we let ourselves hit empty and even go past “E” before we realize that there is a problem? We should be consistently feeding our spirit and mind with the Word of God and spending time with Him because He is the only source of true rest and strength.

The verses of Isaiah 40:28-31 have been written in my journal continuously throughout the last two weeks.

Have you never heard?

Have you never understood?

The Lord is the everlasting God,

the Creator of all the earth.

He never grows weak or weary.

No one can measure the depths of his understanding.

29

He gives power to the weak

and strength to the powerless.

30

Even youths will become weak and tired,

and young men will fall in exhaustion.

31

But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.

They will soar high on wings like eagles.

They will run and not grow weary.

They will walk and not faint.

Write this verse down and rehearse it over your day. We do not have to depend on ourselves to get it all done. How beautiful is that? Let God be your strength and rest in His arms this next week!
