Sharing Is Caring

I was reminded this week by a sweet, young girl that life on earth is only temporary and there is another Home awaiting us. After I had taken her order in the drive-thru she eagerly said,” Wait, I need to ask you a question. Do you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? That He died for you and He loves you more than you will ever know.” I smiled and my heart melted when I told her I did know Jesus and I returned the question. She then told me that her life is more “sunny” with Jesus in it. I smiled all day and I can’t stop thinking about how ready she was to share Jesus with someone - a stranger. We are supposed to love people, and be kind, as Jesus would. However, this week I realized that many times I’m given the opportunity to share the gospel with someone and instead I tell myself that it really wouldn’t make a difference. Loving people should be the first thing we do, but we should also share our Savior with them and not simply assume they know Him. If you had a cure for a disease that was plaguing many people and nations, would you not share it with them to save them? Jesus is the answer to everything and more that we will ever face on this earth. Anxiety, depression, death, sin, lust, hatred, He has conquered it all.
My grandma earlier this week read me a letter that her mother, my great-grandmother had written as her last prayer for her lineage. She prayed that she would meet every single child, every grandchild, every spouse, and everyone in between on Heaven’s shores. This week has sat heavy on my heart because it was put into perspective that it’s not about me. It’s not about someone making fun of me or someone thinking I’m even more of a “Jesus freak.” It’s not about me. Our lives are but a vapor on this earth, but our eternities are forever. People’s eternities are at stake here. I’ve had conversations about the End Times with multiple people, and I know that I’m going to Heaven but I can’t say that about some of my friends. It scares me for them. Look around you. Who is in your life? Is it a friend, coworker, teacher, peer, sibling, parent, etc that may not know the love of Jesus and what He did for us? People are on purpose. I’m sure you’ve heard the term “People are either a blessin’ or a lesson.” God doesn’t cross your path with someone for no reason. There is intention, and there is purpose because you are so precious and He cares for you.
This next week I challenge you to open your eyes and see, truly see, the people around you that are hurting in need of a Savior that can calm the storm. Let’s get outside of ourselves and focus our perspectives on eternity. I pray that I get to see each one of you in Heaven someday :)
“Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.”
Matthew 24:42
