1 Samuel 17:34-35
“But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it.””
1 Samuel 17:37
“”The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you.””
David had fought his battles in private. His only witnesses were God and his sheep. A lot of people fight and win private battles. Just because you fight a battle in private doesn’t mean it’s not important. God never wastes a private victory. The battles we fight in private position us for the battles we fight in public. God sees you, he hears you. He’s fighting right alongside you. There is never a moment that you are fighting on your own.
