This past weekend I was visiting my brother out of town, and we went shopping, of course! There was a necklace that caught my eye. It was so simple, yet so profound. It said “Loved” in Morse Code. It honestly took my breath away for a moment because this necklace spoke to my spirit. I had recently become increasingly aware of how many people in my day to day life are hurting, really hurting. I had been praying for how to help them, and I had been praying for God to help me too. This was my answer.
I’ve been feeling overwhelmed and anxious for too long, and I’ve had conversations about anxiety with numerous people this week. I found myself going to God to “fill me up,” but I wasn’t consciously seeing what it was about Him that was filling me up. It was His love. His love flooded the spaces in my heart that had been broken and left a gaping hole. His perfect love brings light into any circumstance I may face. His love gives me my unending joy. The answer to any curveball life may throw? His love.
His love is unconditional, and we can rest knowing that there is nothing we can do to make Him love us any more or any less. There is no striving or reason for fear of messing it up. I think too often we relate God’s love to that of humanity only because that is all we understand, or think we understand. God cares for you farther and wider than your mind could capture.
The thing is, I will never have all of the answers for anyone, not even myself. I won’t be able to fix anyone’s problems, or cure their anxiety, or make anyone love me. But, I can love them. Jesus was the best example of love and the light that it brings into a dark, broken world. There is so much beauty in knowing that the Creator of the Universe loves you enough to make you fearfully and wonderfully. (Psalm 119:14)
37 “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39
18 “may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”

16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
