Love Remembers

Quarantine. Isolation. Loneliness.

These are things that 2020 threw, quite aggressively, at us. I didn’t know how to deal with these, and I still don’t. It is hard not being able to leave your house to go to school, work, church, etc. It is hard only being able to see people through a screen. It is hard not being able to hug loved ones. 2020 is hard.

This was a year that I found my identity and confidence in God, but not until after it had been shaken up. I had to realize that my identity was not found in friendships, productivity, my grades, distractions, my loneliness. The enemy tries to make us feel like we are all alone in order to make us more susceptible to his attacks and lies. No matter what life or anything else throws at us, God will forever remain the same.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

Many times when I feel lonely, I feel forgotten. This reminded me of the story that takes place in Genesis 29 and 30 with Rachel, Leah, and Jacob. Jacob desired Rachel as his wife, but was given Leah first. He was unhappy until he attained Rachel, and this was common knowledge. Leah knew she wasn’t the one he sought after, but that didn’t make her any less precious in the eyes of God and He certainly never forgot about her.

I hope this serves as a reminder to you today, as I was reminded recently, that no matter how hard life seems to have knocked you down or how bad you feel - God is still the same. He is always with us, it’s just a matter of us acknowledging His presence. Rehearse God’s promises especially when you don’t feel like it because that may be the time you need it the most. God is Love and He hasn’t forgotten about you, nor will He ever. Love remembers you!!

You are loved. You are not alone. You are not forgotten.

Share Jesus with someone today! :)
