In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, fear is a reigning issue in our culture. Despite all of the craziness going on right now, you don't have to fear. God doesn't want you to become worried or worked up about it. Just think about it: when you're in God's presence, all other fear and worries cease to exist. But sometimes it can still be hard to navigate that. So we wanted to give you some practical steps on how to avoid fear in your life and what you can do instead. Enjoy and stay safe!
Guard your mind and guard your heart (Proverbs 4:23). Your heart controls the path of your life. Be very careful about what you're consuming and taking in at this time. Remember that God is ultimately in control.
Give your worries to God (Psalm 55:22, Philippians 4:4, Matthew 6:34). We were not created to contain fear and worry about our lives. Jesus came to the Earth to take your burden away. He came to give you God's peace that transcends all understanding. God wants you to cast your burden on Him. Surrender your fears to Jesus.
Remind yourself that God is in control. At the end of the day, God is still in control. We do not need to put our faith in anything of this world because those things can become shaky and unstable. God is always a steady and solid foundation to stand on. Put your faith in Him, and trust that He is working all things for good.
Remember that God knows the future. He knew that this was coming. He knows all the hardships in life that will come our way and He knows if and when it will pass. You don't have to fear the future because it is in God's hards. God has a plan and a purpose through every season and every storm. His plan is good.
Trials bring you closer to Christ (2 Corinthians 12:7-10). His power works best in our weakness. His power shines through every trial we go through. God will use every struggle. His grace is all we need. This doesn't mean that he will take away the struggle, it simply means He will walk with you and strengthen you through it. Sometimes it's trials that bring us closer to God. It is when we become desperate that we become closer to God.
“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is set on you, because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3
