I Am Loved

Updated: May 31, 2020

In the spirit of tomorrow's holiday, I thought it would be appropriate to talk about love. Love has always been a word over my life. From a young age, I desired love from wherever I could get it. It was like I was addicted, I could never get enough. But there was always something different about God's love. And today I have the honor to explain that.

Do you remember your first love? Do you recall how it felt? Let's refresh your memory. Your first love is what excites you about beginning your day, what makes you want to get up in the morning. Your first love brings reassurance to your heart, hope that something good will happen today. Your first love exhilarates you, leaves your heart racing, makes those butterflies in your stomach go crazy.

When you experience your first love, you are eager and curious and hopeful and expectant. Your heart wakes to hope. Your desire to be with your love, constantly. You enjoy spending time with them, getting used to their voice, getting to know them.

”You remember your first love because they show you, prove to you, that you can love and be loved, that nothing in this world is deserved except for love, that love is both how you become a person, and why.“ -John Green

When you love, you see the world with an open heart, an open mind, and open eyes. You listen close for more. You are excited and attentive when you're with them. You are eager to absorb every moment with them.

Now imagine someone feeling that for you, all day, every day. Let me let you in on a little secret: God looks at you like you are His first love. You are loved. You are desired. God is eager to love you. He longs to spend time with you, to hear your voice, to get to know you. God sees you as his first love constantly. You don’t have to worry about love. Because as long as He’s existing, you will be loved.

Happy Valentines Day! Love,

Kaylee
